Overview

I write book reviews, opinion pieces, and writing craft articles for authors and readers at my blog. I'm always looking for opportunities to guest post and/or write content for sites, blogs, and businesses on a variety of topics (writing craft, floral design, relationships, Christian faith, cooking, books, and more).

In addition, I offer freelance editing and proofreading services, mostly for fiction authors and poets but periodically for college students, nonfiction authors, or businesses and nonprofits. Those services range from basic proofreads to content edits to critiques.

Work experience

Blogger and Book Reviewer

Engraved: All Things Writing
January, 2013 – Present (over 5 years)

I designed my writing-themed blog to provide resources, references, and encouragement to authors and readers. I review books in most genres for independent authors, several small publishers, and via membership programs (BookCrash.com and Blogging for Books). Those reviews are published to my blog as well as to my various spheres of influence online (Goodreads, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Twitter, Library Thing, LinkedIn).

Freelance Editor and Proofreader

Refiner's Fire Editing
September, 2011 – Present (almost 7 years)

I have provided editorial and critique services for fiction clients toward their goal of eventual publication. I've also drafted and distributed flyers on writing-related challenges (punctuation, grammar, etc.) many writers face, to provide my clients with go-to resources.

Each client benefits from a minimum of one single-spaced typed page of guidance and general directives about their writing, both strengths and challenges, in addition to the services for which they contracted with me (proofreading, line-by-line copy-editing, or content editing).
