Overview

I'm an award-winning short story writer and an experienced editor, proofreader and copywriter. My creative writing has appeared in Winter Papers, gorse, The Stinging Fly, The Dublin Review, and the anthologies The Long Gaze Back (New Island) and Town & Country (Faber). I’ve won a number of awards for my fiction and am represented by Lucy Luck at Conville & Walsh.

I am co-founder and editor of Banshee literary journal, where we work with authors to publish exciting and contemporary fiction, poetry and essays. I tutor beginner creative writers at Big Smoke Writing Factory, providing in-depth feedback on character, themes, structure, dialogue and style. I am also an experienced journalist, with work appearing in the Irish Examiner, the Irish Times and the Irish Independent.

I co-founded and co-edit Banshee, a print journal of exciting new fiction, poetry and essays from Ireland and around the world. I collaborate with writers on line edits and structural changes to ensure their work is as clear, crisp and compelling as possible.

August, 2014 – March, 2017 (over 2 years)

Staff writer at an educational publisher specialising in English textbooks for Junior and Leaving Cert. Duties included writing content, copyediting, typesetting and design, website maintenance, social media management, proofreading and research. In 2016 I wrote and designed the Junior Cert title Romeo & Juliet: Full Text & Study Notes.
