Published reviews

A very cool concept and an original take on magic in the world - a great series start!

Thriller & Suspense

The Feels

An extremely cool concept that is fabulous and engaging, but the conclusion/reveals feel VERY rushed...

Thriller & Suspense

The Desire Card

Solid concept, but after a very strong opening/build up, it sort of petered out, action-wise, for me until the very end.

Biographies & Memoirs

The Man Who Signed the City

A series of lovely tributes to a variety of true characters, Keiger's collection entertains and informs

Jill-Elizabeth.com is mostly focused on book reviews and guest posts on the writing process these days; family life has sucked up much of the time I used to spend writing my own fiction. But one of these days, I'll get back to it...

Reason for blogging

I originally started the blog as a feature space for my own fiction; book reviews were a weekly feature in the daily blog. Then I took a hiatus when I had my daughter and while I stayed at home with her. Once she started preschool, I returned to the blog but found that I didn't have the time or energy to adequately devote to daily blogging OR writing my own fiction, but since I've always loved to read and talk about books, I thought I would try focusing on reviews and guest pieces about writing instead. That's the format I've been primarily following ever since... This way I still get to dabble in writing AND get to share books with other readers. It's a great way to keep my hand in without overwhelming myself and to keep the quality of what I post high since I now only post three times a week.
