As an author and reviewer, I am allowed unique opportunities to interact with my readers in a variety of settings, communicate with industry professionals, gain exposure to new titles; and, most importantly, form a greater connection with the most important people involved in any story--the readers.
Reason for blogging
While attending a Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators conference, I was informed that there was a need for more Children's Literature book reviewers. I was pleased to earn a position among the team of reviewers for Children's Literature and I have enjoyed reviewing traditionally published titles in a variety of genres, ranging from picture book to young adult. I also evaluate independently published children's titles for DartFrog Books. As a reviewer, I am not only exposed to a greater number of current and upcoming titles in the children's book industry, but I also strengthen my skills as a creative writer which benefits my own children's books works.
