A picture book about the long-awaited end of the COVID-19 pandemic. After being separated for such a long time, what will bring our loved ones back together? A tender story about what the vaccine has to offer: a return to normal.

When A Shot Meant A Lot is a cute story about COVID-19 and the vaccine written from a little girl's perspective.
A little girl learns about the pandemic and is told she cannot go outside as it is not safe. At first, she doesn't mind as she gets to watch lots of TV. However, she eventually gets tired of being home and misses her grandmother and friends. Then, she learns there is a vaccine that will change everything. She is confused, scared, and anxious. And she waits for this change to occur. One day, it does and she is in for a big surprise!
The story is simple and easy to read. It flows nicely from beginning to end. I like that it is written from a child's perspective - little kids reading this will be able to relate to the character. They may be feeling the same emotions and will feel a sense of comfort knowing they are not alone. The story also gives children comfort in knowing the vaccine is just like any other shot they would normally receive from the doctor and know it is okay to be scared.
The font is big, clear, and a child-like making it easy to read. Some of the words are in a larger font to stress the emotions.
The illustrations are cute and colorful. They depict the story nicely.
Well done!
