The thing about...Clowns

By

Must read 🏆

"The thing about...Clowns" by Steven Megson is a great starter book for young readers with easy-to-read text.

"Have you ever wanted to run away and join the circus? Learn what life is like for all those silly pranksters. Curious why they wear such wacky outfits? Want to know what's the shape of a clown's nose? Eager to ask how they can all fit in a single car? Whether they're called jesters, fools, or comedians, there's a lot to understand about these costumed funny fellows."

There are so many benefits to being a clown. Clowns love to dress up, wear face make-up, and make the audience smile. Their job is acting silly, doing tricks, and bringing joy to all those around them. There are also some pitfalls. For instance, some never get a day off from the circus. And they have to fit inside a tiny car with all their clown friends. The image of the clowns all squished inside, one positioned upside, was very comical. Kids will chuckle at the tight squeeze!

The thing about...Clowns by Steven Megson informs children there is a special school to learn the craft of being a clown. Oh yeah, that's a real thing. This story also mentions that some clowns scare children, but we must remember under the make-up, there are people too: moms, dads, sisters, and brothers. Tell children, when they see a clown and feel fear bubbling up inside, they are just people wearing a Halloween costume for their job. I bet children will agree that it is a pretty cool job to have!

The thing about...Clowns by Steven Megson is a great starter book for young readers with easy-to-read text. The illustrations by Vikkireds can reach a wide variety of ages. Babies will love the vibrant colors, and the colorful balls, stars, balloons, and clown outfits will help teach toddlers their colors.

I highly recommend this book to all ages!
