An interesting and humorous adventure story about kindness and friendship
Charlotte has a cozy tree house, a pet frog named Ferdinand, a taste for adventure and just loves all girly things. Now all she needs is a best friend... and then a spaceship crashes on her tree house! The crash introduces her to shy and just a little awkward Matilda, who knows adventures only from her many books and who gets queasy at the thought of wearing a dress. Can these two become the bestest of friends?
The quirky and fun illustrated chapter book is best read aloud at storytime. It is a lovely story to send children off to the land of dreams and even make them look forward to going to bed. This book is a tribute and gift to the author’s best friend.
In this story, two little girls find friendship. They go on explorations together, and they share the joys and downsides of each adventure. If you are in the market for a book that extols the virtues of feminine friendship and kindness, then this is the book for you. Pick up a copy of The Bestest of Friends at your local bookstore!
I found the story to be interesting and humorous. Charlotte, who is very girly, has everything she needs, except a best friend. That is until Matilda's spaceship crashes into Charlotte's treehouse. Though Matilda, who is more thoughtful and quieter, is so different from Charlotte, the two will become forever friends. While several people will accompany these girls on their many adventures, they will remain the best of friends through it all.
I also found the accompanying illustrations to be endearing. They help to move the story along and will keep readers interested.
This book will be a good gift for a little girl. While it seems to be geared towards younger readers, I believe older ones will be able to appreciate it too, since it deals with themes of friendship and kindness. Pick up a copy of The Bestest of Friends at your local bookstore or online!

In real life I work in IT support and crunch numbers all day. But my lifelong love have always been reading and writing. After a long time I finally worked up the nerve to share a story with the world. I love exploring the countryside and usually wind up in a cozy spot in the sun with a book. view profile
