They say time heals all wounds, but it has bound me instead...
Matt was my husband. I was supposed to be with him for the rest of my life when the accident happened and took him away from me. I wouldn't love anyone else. I believed.
Until, I meet Leif. He tells me to trust him and to take my chance with him.
Except, I'm his hostage. Not only am I his hostage, but time is holding me captive too, and I'm suddenly trapped in a world that is not mine. The year is 1756, and I am strangely in Massachusetts Bay Colony. War between Great Britain and France explodes across New England, and terrorizes the territory.
I don't know how I got here, and all I want to do is find a way home. But, the more time I'm stranded here, the more I spend time with Leif, and I am compelled toward him.
Our lives are becoming inextricably entwined, and I'm afraid of losing everything that I once knew and loved.
I begin questioning where I truly belong as I think of the life I left behind.
I wonder if I'm going to withstand this, because all I know for certain is he is bound to my survival... and to the truth of why I'm here.

See AllGood read but a bit choppy
Good read and entertaining but seemed a bit choppy in the plot line and wish I had found out what happened next…kinda ended abruptly.
Excellent Read!
It seems many readers have compared this book to Outlander, and they’re only right in that the comparison can pertain to the realism depicted in the plot of this book. There’re plenty of differences that lie between this book and Outlander. One and foremost is that this book is a romance where Outlander is not. This has been said by the author of Outlander herself. And even though this has been said, that book likes to be sold under the romance gene as a romance—probably for marketing reasons. A true disservice to readers, who actually enjoy the romance genre like myself. This story that I just read, Taken, is also unique by its own premise from the start as it takes place in 21st Century America and hurls the reader to the setting of Colonial America before the American Revolutionary War with the focus being in New England.
The story involves actual historical facts that occurred during this time period within the colonies, and the slow burn romance of the two main characters. A significant difference from Outlander. I think many readers taking issue with this story and for the reasons why they’ve given it low ratings accordingly, is clearly stated in their reviews for obvious displays of bias for Outlander. The threat they seem to express is that this book actually competes against it, and as gatekeepers of Outlander it shows their fear for the competition while guarding the romance genre it’s categorized in while it does not claim to belong to it.
My opinion is different. I would highly recommend this book to anyone sharing an open mind outside of Outlander, to gain a satisfying reading experience from the romance genre, that I also like reading in, where this book correctly belongs in this category.
This is Outlander in a different font.
There are some lines ripped directly from the pages of Outlander, the situations are almost identical, even the characters’ names are similar!
It’s a poorly written copy of Outlander. If someone told me this was ripped from AO3, I wouldn’t be surprised.
Will I keep reading it? Yes.
Will I keep cringing the entire way through? Absolutely.
