The Gift Ceremony is an important event in a foal's life. Storma will receive their magical gift this year, a day they've dreamed about for a long time. I loved Storma's excitement about the big day. It reminded me of kids on Christmas morning or those who just found out they were going to Disney World. Too excited to sleep in. Too excited to eat or eat at record speeds. They have only one thing on their mind: gifts or a single gift in Storma's case.
Storma's thoughts are solely focused on getting to the Elder Tree until she hears a cry for help. I almost missed the baby hedgehog (a hoglet) tucked partially behind a tree (zoomed-out image). The close-up view was very adorable. It wasn't overly detailed, but there's no mistaking what the animal was by its unique shape and coloring. What a darling hoglet!
Time’s ticking'. Storma is faced with a tough decision. Help the scared hoglet, named Snowball, or head to the ceremony.
