Stinkerton McPoo is a gassy dog with an unbearable stink, almost as stinky as the trouble she keeps getting herself into. Going with her family to spend a day at the beach should have been quite calming and joyful. Instead, Stinkerton McPoo finds herself being chased by an angry mob as she makes her way through a kite, ice cream, sandcastles, stores, food, and even other animals.
The story is very fun to read. The author writes the story in rhyme which makes it very appealing to both children and adults. Something new happens with every turn of a page that children are bound to excitedly go through to see what trouble the dog is getting herself into next.
The story is not only about fun, but also includes a small segment about the environment and how people’s neglect hurts animals. This is done in a clever way that does not dominate the story, but that delivers the message strongly nevertheless.
The artwork is absolutely beautiful and brings the words to a colorful life that the children are bound to enjoy.
I recommend this book to all parents or caretakers who want to introduce their children to a new, fun character that they won’t be able to have enough of.
