Old School Punk Kindle Edition

4.2 4.2 out of 5 stars 6 ratings

The original punks that raged through the 1970s are now old men and women. For example, Keith was one of few who was really at the Sex Pistols 'Gig That Changed the World' in Manchester in 1976. He is now curator of the Manchester Punk Museum and despite dressing the part, his raging days are now well behind him. It is now 2016, and Keith is preparing to host the concert to celebrate the 40th anniversary of that influential Pistols gig.

'Old School Punk' is a lighthearted exploration of the effect of punk on some present day inhabitants of the definitively awful town of Blackpool, including :
  • A drummer who can't stop hitting people
  • A guitar hero turned preacher
  • A punk grandma and her wayward daughter
  • A member of a notorious Blackpool crime family

I was born in Blackpool, England in 1966.

After a Maths degree at St. Andrews University, I made a terrible mistake and became an accountant. Fortunately, I was able to make a sideways move into IT and never looked back.

I did pretty much every job in IT around the world before becoming a Data Architect/Consultant for hire. I then discovered the pleasure and pain of Sales, and joined two early-stage database startup companies, at least one of which became very successful.

I retired in 2021 to the Wirral in the North West of England to concentrate on my wife and family, my bass guitar, my Peloton and my writing.
