Mama Sheep loves keeping a clean and tidy house. It makes her very happy when everything is in their place. Her happiness is interrupted, though, when a cup of water appears on her bathroom counter every morning. Who could have left it there? Was it Daddy Sheep? Did he leave it there in case they were thirsty overnight? Was it one of her three lambs? Did someone else enter her home and leave the drink behind? Mama Sheep would not have a "good day" until the mystery was solved. Her investigation took her all around the world and even to space. Put on your thinking caps and offer a guess who is responsible for the discarded cup before the answer is unveiled!
Mama Sheep and the Mysterious Cup is a charming children's book that culminates in a twist that will leave you pleasantly surprised. The sheep's endearing heart-shaped noses, the fluffy gray on their heads, and their adorable outfits add to the book's visual appeal. The alien's reactions during the interrogation are sure to bring a smile to your face. You'll be left wondering if they were more bewildered by a talking sheep or the question of their involvement in the cup mystery.
Since no one was fessing up to the cup, Mama Sheep sets up a camera in the bathroom to catch the animal or alien red-handed. Mama Sheep does discover the truth, and it may not be who you think it is. This mystery was fun to read, even though, without the use of clues, there was little to no sleuthing assistance from the readers. The story does teach kids the days of the week, and the repetitive text is perfect for budding readers.
Mama Sheep and the Mysterious Cup is a fun read that will get your youngsters wondering, who did leave the cup on the counter. I recommend sharing it with children up to age nine.
