See AllLove beyond love
Nicole puts passion into her poems, discussing her unsuccessfulness with love. Trying to fit the mold for men who have an idea of the type of woman they want and want her to be. You feel the hurt and pain she had with struggling to figure out who she is as a person and the reality that if she can't accept herself how can she expect others to accept her as she is. She is young and still searching for who she is. it's what every young woman goes through and figuring out who she wants to be as a woman. She can be as confident and independent as she wants to be but with the pressure to be what the man wants her to be it is a struggle. You can tell she put a lot of effort into her writing and it was her outlet from the outside world. I had the pleasure to read an ARC.
healing & reflective journey
I had the privilege of an ARC, and felt as if I was reading a poetic journey of discussions between myself and my best friend. I couldn't put it down!
Camello's poetry evokes powerful memories of love and loss, reminding us that we're not alone in the heartache, jealousy and anger that comes from love lost.
lovesick & jaded is a must-read that will help you process all of the emotions that surround being in love, for better or worse.
lovesick & jaded
Nicole Camello’s poems in lovesick & jaded contain lines, emotions, experiences that each of us can connect with. The pain of love lost; the never-ending journey to discover our true “self”.
In her words, we find despair, loneliness, pain and, most importantly, hope.
In the next-to-last poem in this collection, “plant your seeds,” the author offers advice all of us can relate to —
“trying to be other people is a waste of time
it’s much more enjoyable to be yourself I promise “
