Your child's school year might not resemble the fictional one, but I bet it comes close. Ask your child if there were any similarities between their school days and those highlighted in the story. While the twelve fill-in-the-blank focuses on a child's future goals, encourage your kid to discuss the past year. What was their favorite field trip? Story? Subject?
I was thrilled to see different skin tones represented. It was also nice to see a child in a wheelchair playing basketball with his friends. The cute storyline, the diverse cast, and the scrapbooking pages make this book a perfect gift for your graduate.
Amazon's recommended reading age is 4-8 years. Since small children typically graduate pre-k and kindergarten, I suggest gifting this book to those students.
