POETIC SUBMISSIONS!
Poetic inspiration comes from all angles, day and night. When or how poetic proliferation is penned has many permutations like a grain of sands in the Sahara Desert. It comes anytime from anywhere and in any situation of life. It could be sealed in a bottle cast onto the oceans’ tides for future generations to discover. It could be derived from a Peniel Experience with God or in the moment of experiencing bewilderment of existential joy gracing the mind, body, and soul with much inspiration.
My beloved baby sister of God’s inspirational grace, Marsha, scribed the following poem on Sunday, December 27, 2020. She sent it at 12:51 pm. I opened it at 8:27 am the next day. It came days before the anthology’s kick-off date. The request was sent to her on December 23, at 2:30 am. She rose to the call of duty and diligently acted above and beyond expectations. It is the first poem to grace the “International Family Poetic Anthology.
Marsha states, “Joe, I went for a walk and spent an hour working out at the gym. After that, I returned home, got comfortable, and then penned this acrostic poem entitled:
“OH, My Brothers!’’’
Oh, my brothers!
How many brothers?
Many are my brothers
Younger and older are my brothers
Bad and Good are my brothers
Remembering all my brothers
Oh, my brothers
Teachers to me are my brothers
Heaven help my brothers
Every day, I think of my brothers
Remembering all my brothers
Savior, have mercy on my brothers!
Dr. Marsha P. Spence (Florida)
My sister and I have been close since childhood. We cherished the biblical connection of Mary and Joseph. I spent more time with her than any of my siblings. She is very optimistic, a great vegetarian cook, and makes nutritious natural juices. Whenever I used to visit her, we would always attend church and take my dear mother new flowers at her earthly resting site in Florida. We went biking, walking, and played great games of ping pong, and she loved my poetry books. We have always been supportive of each other. She is and always will be a dear soul and blessed sister unto eternity through God’s grace and everlasting blessings on her soul!
