Allergies in our pets can be severe.
Rosie’s food allergy is funnier than it is serious. The family cat’s expressions and his role in the book play a funny part as well.
A family’s black lab dog has to go through her day with unusual symptoms and reactions after she snuck into the breakfast cereal when they weren't looking. The Vet gave instructions, and Rosie's day was unlike any she has ever had. Every time Rosie sneezed, fruity toot cereal departed from her tail end. When her family laughed, she still felt loved but when strangers laughed, Rosie felt embarrassed. Because it wasn’t a serious allergy and care instructions were followed from the Vet, she was better by bedtime. Helpful tips about pet allergies are on the last page as a reminder that allergies in our furry family members are important.

Rosie, as the title suggests is a food-loving pup who gorges on an entire box of cereal only for her and her family to find out she's allergic to it. The care and affection the family extend to Rosie is heart-warming.
There's an integral need for books that help young children understand food allergies and this book can be a funny and cute introduction into that sphere.
Holy Fruit Toots Rosie! gives us an insight into what it is to care for a pet and one with allergies at that! The book introduces children to a food-loving pup named Rosie and her family which include Ava and Lily, Papa, Mama who is pictured pregnant with a baby boy named Billy and a cat named Opie.
On getting the allergy every time Rosie would sneeze, she would also poop out the Fruity Toot toot cereals that she consumed. This image is supported by very funny and cute illustrations. The instructions given by the vet to treat Rosie's allergy is a good example to teach children the importance of proper care and measures to be taken when someone or they themselves fall sick.
Don't worry Rosie. This too, shall pass.
When Rosie was embarrassed because of children laughing at her allergy symptoms. Mama assured her that there's nothing to worry about and this will pass. This is a great reminder for kids that they shouldn't worry about how other people see them, to not feel embarrassed about their illnesses and also to not make fun of anyone else when they're sick.
The book also has a lot of rhymes which would make reading fun for the children. It is not only a fun read but also educational, it ends with information on symptoms and causes of allergy in our pets.
A great informational book for young budding minds especially those with a pet at home!
