Worth reading 😎

Be swept away in this short romance. Follow Jeremy and Hailey as they navigate through an arrangement meant to change both lives.

On a much-needed vacation after closing a big deal, advertising executive Jeremy Kline finds himself in Cranbury, New England. He finds what he's looking for in a sports bar in this college town. He thinks he's in for a night of heavy drinking and some greasy food, but a chance encounter with a beautiful co-ed leads him down a different, but exhilarating, path.

I could classify this book as short but sweet, but that would be totally incorrect. This book is certainly short, but downright dirty, in the best possible way! In a few short chapters, readers will be swept away in a modern-day romance, with a twist they won't see coming. There is a bit more than just romance in this book. There were elements of suspense and just a little mystery. These piqued my interest and kept me turning pages until the very end. The book surprised me by showing what an interesting story could be written with such limited pages.

I was definitely captivated by this book, but it did have its downsides. Mostly, that it was too short; I wanted more! I also didn't like that the book skipped in time and left readers wondering how we got from "a" to "b." The whole book encompasses a short backstory about Jeremy, then about five days in the life of Jeremy and Hailey. I would have loved a little more backstory and less jumping around. In one case, we jump ahead several hours and switch scenes entirely with no explanation. In such a short book, this was disappointing.

I would recommend this book to those romance-lovers looking for a short but racy night-cap. Hailey's Fire is well written, and I found only one small typo. I enjoyed the short read, and it left room for a possible sequel, which I would likely enjoy, as well. Overall, it's a good read. This book does contain well-described erotic scenes, so I would recommend this for a mature audience.
