Get Through This Book is a side-splitting, highly entertaining, interactive story filled with silly antics and cartoon-style humor that kids aged 2-6 will love. In this amusing book, children watch and giggle as a vibrant green, blobbish character and its small purple sidekick try, try, and try again to reach the end of the book. They bump into walls, get flattened like a pancake, and face other hilarious outcomes that remind me of classic cartoon snafus. The green character even falls victim to a painted hole in the floor. Their ouchie and purple's reaction to it is just one of numerous moments that'll have your child ROFL. I know I keep mentioning how funny the story is, and for very good reason, it is truly amusing. If the characters' attempts were real, they would win the grand prize on AFV.
The book's summary points out that "Some books just seem boring." That is definitely not the case with Get Through This Book. Kids will want to pay attention, watch what happens next, and possibly wager a guess on what happens next. For instance, there's a rope dangling; where could it lead? What do they think occurs next after the "extremely weird" page? Many young kids won't recognize the vehicle on the "Come on... think!" page, but adults will love the iconic throwback item from a 1985 movie!
The writer states on the information page that kids may want to read this interactive book over and over again. I agree with that statement. I also agree that this book is perfect for pretty much everywhere and anytime. I recommend getting your copy today!
The suggested reading age is 2-6 years. That's a perfect age range for kids to appreciate the humor. The text is also perfect for kids learning to read or independent readers.
