Love for a child begins long before they take their first breath. It can start when a soon-to-be parent realizes they are pregnant. It can happen when a parent hears their child's heartbeat for the first time, feels them kick, or when they see their baby on the monitor. For many people, their bundle of joy is a dream come true.
In Dream Seed, a very adorable seed vibrated with a dream. It dreamt of growing big and strong, playing at the sandy beach, and sleeping under the stars. The illustrations featuring the happy face seed building a sandcastle and roasting a marshmallow were sweet. I loved the "vibrating" images and watching the small seed grow bigger and bigger in each dream bubble. It was a darling seed, especially the image of it sleeping on its side, its tiny green hands folded next to his face. The seed had the sweetest dreams, but the last transformation image had me saying, "Aww." I bet it'll cause a similar reaction from readers: kids and adults.
Dream Seed is a beautiful poetic story that eloquently demonstrates the power of LOVE and the JOY a seed (a child) can bring to our lives. The story is a sweet reminder for dream-makers (parents) to support their little dreamers (children), guide them, and encourage their 'seed' to keep dreaming. These sweet messages are ones we should all take to heart and follow, inspiring us to nurture and foster the dreams of our children.
