Foreword
This personal memoir is written to provoke my moto and memoir: Be Strong Be Brave Be Faithful to be brought alive into the pages of life for all human beings to witness firsthand upon reading it and experiencing it. The pages within will provoke deep thought, instill excitement, be witty, be inciteful, and will be romantic. This memoir is dedicated to my remarkable parents the late Robert H. Lee, Sr., and the late Mary A. Lee and to my sister Linda D. Riach all of whom were together instrumental in rounding out my life during my lifetime and assisting me and my Lord become the person I am today. This memoir is a page turner to the end. Please keep reading it and enjoying yourself. I whole heartedly enjoyed writing it. Captain Edward R. Lee, USMC Veteran, US Army Veteran, US VA SC Disabled Veteran, US Federal Employee Retired/VA, US Disabled Senior Citizen, US Boat Captain, Author.
Biographies always fascinate me because I love learning more about a person's life, travels, and the events or people they've met that shaped who they are today.Â
Be Strong Be Brave Be Faithful by Captain Edward R. Lee caught my attention because I expected moments that would shock, inspire, and captivate me. As an almost seventy-year-old man who had served in multiple military branches, I knew his life could not be dull. I was ready to dive into the book.Â
At first glance, the advanced copy (the file) sent to me was in extremely large text and only consisted of 25 pages. This stunned me. I thought Reedsy had a type when it stated the word count; I don't believe they did.Â
Despite the page count and font size, Captain Edward R. Lee did manage to stun me. Chapter one's opening paragraph was blunt. He didn't shy away from disclosing the abuse he suffered, and I applaud him for his candor.Â
He continues his life story's by sharing with us how many times he has been married. Hint? It's more than twice.Â
As the book plays out, he speaks about his wives—no names and no actual, substantial details were given. This read like something someone would tell an individual on the first date. Short and to the point.
There were also several editing errors that I could not overlook.Â
While I commend Captain Edward R. Lee's service to our country and empathize with his struggles, I think he needs to delve deeper into his relationships and share more about them with us so we can connect with him and his past.
I won't give away spoilers except to say it appears Captain Edward R. Lee is in a good place at this moment in time.Â
Once again, I'd like to thank Captain Edward R. Lee for his service.Â
