Domain Driven Design and DevOps at Tekserve, New York City's largest independent Apple retailer and service center. My duties center around creating new (and refactoring old) components of Tekserve's proprietary, mission critical PHP/MySQL applications. Other duties include the monitoring and maintenance our MySQL replication and backups processes, as well as maintaining connections between the various parts of the system which include (among other platforms) Filemaker, SalesForce, and Magento. Front-end libraries like AngularJS, jQuery, and Bootstrap are also used daily for building internal facing UIs such business reporting dashbords. An ongoing project is creating documentation for the company's codebase using phpDocumentor.

CultureNOW

Nov, 2006 — Jun, 2013 (over 6 years)

CultureNOW is a small non-profit organization whose mission is to educate the public about the built environment. Originally working with design programs like Illustrator, Photoshop, and inDesign to create printed maps, my skill set has grown along with the organization's needs to encompass a wide range of digital technologies. Over the last six years, I have been in charge of creating and maintaining multiple websites (using LAMP architecture, Javascript/jQuery, and Google APIs) and mobile applications (coding both native iOS and PhoneGap/Cordova apps, and overseeing the creation of an Android app), all centered around a normalized MySQL database accessible by our partners through a user-friendly back end. As the sole associate in charge of development, my skills have grown to encompass both user interface and graphic design and back-end development. The organization also maintains a library of podcasts and requires the creation of promotional materials which have necessitated editing of audio and video.
