Overview

I've been a writer and editor for as long as I can remember. I started working with newspapers in high school, and over 8 years, wrote and edited content for 6 publications (circulation of up to 60,000). I also served as a freelance editor and proofreader for classmates while pursuing my degree in journalism and English. For the past 8 years, I've worked for a restaurant group, using my skills as an editor and designer to proof and create everything from menus and advertisements to web content and company policies for 5 restaurants.
I have experience with layouts and design, but my first love is editing. I'm probably the only person from my Journalism class that was more interested in editing than reporting. My own writing is not exempt, constantly subject to rewriting and revision as my knowledge and vocabulary expands.
I'm a voracious reader, and have reached out to an author or two about errors in their stories. I'm a firm believer that grammar and spelling should not stand in the way of a good story. I've always wanted to be a book editor, and would love to work with an author to present the best possible version of their work. My first choice would be romance, but I'm open to just about any subject.
