I want to completely understand your project before working on the manuscript. Pictures paint a thousand words, and language is so full of subtlety and connotation; every color, design choice & word is precious in print. It has to be worth reading, and trying the recipes -- and the design has to get out of the way in the kitchen.
Creating a book is like gestating a baby. Authors need to be fed nutritious thoughts, time to let things percolate, and a serene environment to push out the words. When all those ideas take form, it's a beautiful thing — holding your book in your hands, counting the pages, hugging it to your chest you feel exactly like you're holding a child for the first time.
You want someone who truly cares about how your book takes form. I mainly specialize in editing, interior formatting, and indexing for self-publishing.
I love helping authors get their works into print. I'm a native New Yorker, home cook with a high level of understanding of food, and have over 20 years of experience in desktop publishing & design in NYC. I've been writing for over 35 years. It was the desire to format my own books that brought me to the graphic design industry.
Providing graphic design services: desktop publishing, print design, layout, typography, typesetting/formatting, re-writing services, writing coaching, book coaching, ghostwriting, and more. Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Scrivener, Microsoft Word, LeanPub, LyX/LaTeX, Apple Pages, etc. Assisted over 20 authors in getting their books published or self-published: titles not in my portfolio include Ageless & Sexy by Sheila Pearl (coaching), Ground-breaking Choices & Courage by Bette Meci (cover design),
