I have six years of experience in acquiring, editing, and project managing books for Chronicle Books and independent publishers in varying categories, from illustrated humor to unique memoirs. I began my career interning for Publisher’s Group West, McSweeney’s/The Believer, and Chronicle Books (with a session at the NYU Summer Publishing Institute in between) before taking an editorial position in the Entertainment Group at Chronicle Books.
As an editor, I love collaborating with authors and artists to create extraordinary projects that tell an engaging story in an engaging way. Whether it’s all words, all pictures, or somewhere in between, I thrive in developing an organized, interesting, and well-paced book.
During my time at Chronicle Books, I worked as an editor in the Entertainment Group. As a member of this group I focused on acquiring, editing, and project managing books and formats in the subjects of humor, film and television, pets, pop culture, sports, and how-to. This breadth of subject matter led to a wide array of projects, from interesting formats (statuettes and temporary tattoos) to distinctive books (Cat Zodiac and How to Drive). This experience has made me an expert in content structure and illustration/photo organization, crafting a clear flow that engages readers.
