I'm an editor with 10+ years of writing experience, 5+ years of medical experience, and a BA in Psychology. (as well as half a BSN, pre-medical requirements, a minor in Chemistry, and half a minor in Business). I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2014.
I'm a jack-of-all-trades who loves to travel and learn new skills, which I then fold into my writing. Some of these skills include: Tae Kwon Do, piano, drums, woodworking, metalworking, computer science, coding, crochet, art and sculpture, and--my specialty--babies and children.
I have been officially and unofficially editing both research papers and novels (my own and others') for years now, and working with authors from PhD's in Health Sciences to 14-year-olds writing their first short. I can navigate tricky grammatical situations with ease and specialize in content editing--specifically, how to tell the story you want to tell without any clichés, plot holes, or unrealistic deus ex machina-type situations. I am happy to provide proofreading and constructive criticism up to the level that the author desires, without overstepping my boundaries if the author wishes it.
Extremely thorough content/proofreading editor with 10+ years of writing experience, 5 years of medical experience, and a BA in Psychology.
I have been a nanny for two years now in order to pay for school, specializing in special-needs infants. My current client has a twin boy and girl, one of which has a heart condition that requires frequent medication and special care. I have also worked with children with autism, ADHD, behavioral disorders, cerebral palsy, and various other complications.
I was a mental health tech for patients of all ages and severities at a mental hospital, including children as young as 4, teenagers, geriatric patients, and the severely mentally incapacitated.
I worked for a PhD at UT Austin as she conducted a health study within the African-American community. The job required extensive writing and editing as well as coordinating up to five volunteers and organizing events.
I taught a class of 4-6 year olds (up to 30 at once) by myself and assisted in lessons for children up to 13 years of age as a black belt instructor.
