I'm a well-rounded and established editor who has over 20 years of experience in the industry (I can't believe I'm actually saying that), and now own and operate my own small press and a boutique editing and PR firm. I've worked with bestselling YA authors and film makers, currently have several projects 'in development' in Hollywood, and am best in developmental and lines positions--particularly with fantasy of all sorts! I also work as a book shepherd and consultant, and love-love-love taking my clients from start to finish in their publishing journey.
I'm in charge of everything from acquisitions to developmental editing to art direction and publishing here, which means I sign authors, take them through the steps of editing and social media, handle covers, formatting, design, printing, conversion, rights, and then marketing/PR/distribution. We maintain a small stable because I want to be personally involved with and committed to all of my authors, and I don't have a manuscript to another editor until it's ready for copy editing and proofing.
This is an editing and consulting boutique firm, where I work with private clients to develop and tighten their manuscripts, then walk them through editing and into the publication process. I offer consulting and book shepherding as well, and have worked with many clients from start to finish on their projects. We're currently working on an expansion into PR and marketing with this small firm.
I am a production editor and final reader for Reference Point Press, which means I'm in charge of taking all books from manuscript form into formatting and design, proofing, author corrections, indexing, and then submission to the printers. In this capacity I work with nearly finished manuscripts and make sure that they're beautiful before they reach the printer--and the reader!
