After being picked up by a publisher for my first book, I decided to self publish the 2nd book in the Hellie and Queek Series:
Queek's Race in Outer Space
Written & Illustrated by Carrie Mortleman
Queek the scrumptious sugar mouse teams up with his best friend Hellie the Hovercraft Elephant for a very important race against the aliens from Mars!
Their journey takes them past soft, bouncy trampoline clouds with a brief stop to pluck yummy white chocolate stars from the Milky Way. But can they beat the aliens and win the treasure sack?

Published first children’s book Hellie the Hovercraft Elephant

Self-employed
April, 2016 – Present (over 1 year)

Author of the very original and creative story Hellie the Hovercraft Elephant:

“I’m Hellie the Hovercraft Elephant and I’m ever so tall,
I’m Hellie the Hovercraft Elephant and I never fall.
I have fur that is fairy floss pink, and it’s wonderfully fluffy and light.
For although I am an elephant, I’m an elephant in flight!”

Hellie the elephant has a very special skill - she can fly!
But when she meets Queek the mouse, she learns that the power of friendship is the strongest superpower of all.

Children will love flying with Hellie on this magical journey that blasts through fear and zooms into fun and friendship.

Created all illustrations with sketches, Adobe Suite programs & photography.
Crowdfunded to 1000 EUR enabling a self-published first release.

Although Eva and Morgan shared a predominant amount of genetic make-up, they were two sisters with vastly different personalities.
