As copy chief for Group SJR, an international digital content agency, I oversee the quality of the copy we publish on behalf of our clients. I perform multiple levels of editing, alternating between AP and Chicago and accounting for client particulars. Part of my role includes awareness of strategy and helping ensure that what we produce matches our clients’ desired tone.
At NERC I managed the production of our highest-priority publications and provided content and structure improvements. My work included editing reports on the availability of electric power and reserves across North America, the annual report, confidential cybersecurity documents, etc.
In my freelance work, I provide editing as needed on clients’ manuscripts and writing projects. Clients include Penguin Random House, Hachette Book Group, Brandfolder, Burns & McDonnell, and various independent authors and corporate accounts.
At Turner I was head editor and resource manager across the TBS, Inc., networks and public relations groups. I wrote and edited corporate messages, relaunched the press site, and ensured quality on all networks’ Television Critics Association Press Tour materials.
I served as associate editor and feature writer for a national weekly satellite TV guide. As a member of the Television Critics Association, I researched programs; interviewed producers, directors, actors, doctors, and scientists; and wrote and edited features for each issue.
