Overview
You know what I mean. Those things that can slip past you when you're so close to your own words, such as inconsistencies in your plot, characterisation or dialogue. And pesky errors in spelling and grammar.
These are distractions - some big, some small - that interfere with the flow of your story. All good writers get them. The best know that editing is essential if you are to catch and correct such errors, and keep those pages turning.
Editing is an art in itself and, to be done well, requires good training. I completed mine with the highly regarded UK Publishing Training Centre. In addition, I’m a member of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders, which is the most widely respected organisation for editorial professionals in the UK. Any work I do is conducted in accordance with their Code of Practice.
I know what good writing looks like, and how to create it. I’m trained in journalism, have worked as a freelance writer, and I have both fiction and non-fiction writing published on the web, in national glossies, and with traditional publishers.
Words are my thing, and now I editing fills my day. I can help you make your novel stand out from the rest by working with you to eliminate those big little errors that can make all the difference. Together we can ensure your novel is the very best it can be before your readers even get their hands on it.
Do get in touch today for a chat about how I can help you - I'd love to hear your story.
