Overview
I like to develop an overarching concept for the visual style of a book which then gives an anchor for the content, and ultimately creates something as engaging as possible for the reader. I want the look of the book to be as appealing as the content.
I can work with all stakeholders to develop the book through editing and amendments until it's ready for production. If necessary I can oversee the print production as well, sourcing the most suitable printer to fit budget and delivery constraints. I have previously also redesigned books to be distributed digitally in Apple iBooks. Once this is resolved, I can design any other collateral that might be needed for marketing, including print material such as posters and point of sale, as well as digital assets such as web banners and social media posts.

I started working as a professional designer in 1998, going freelance in 2004. Since then I have worked in dozens of agencies and design companies, both large and small. This has included 7 years at The LEGO Company where I was responsible for designing the UK Brand Catalogue for 4 years, as well as creating alternate language versions of the LEGO Shop at Home Catalogue for the French and German Market. These catalogues and magazines were printed in the hundreds of thousands.
I also worked with Getty Images for a few years where I developed the look and feel for a new publication of their premium creative photography. I then designed 2 further editions of this. I also redesigned 2 of their key editorial publications, one a 400 page photography book and one a magazine.
Outside of this I have worked with many Advertising, Marketing, Branding, Interior Design and Art agencies designing all manner of materials for print and online.
