Becca Allen

Becca Allen - Editor

London, United Kingdom

I am an editor with experience in publishing companies both big and small, and a passion for middle grade and young adult fiction.

Overview

I've worked in publishing for over seven years, at small indie publisher Constable & Robinson and at one of the the UK's Big Four publishers, Hachette Children's Group. Now I'm a freelance editor, working for a range of publishers, literary agencies and charities. I know what publishers and agents are looking for, and want to help authors bridge the gap between writing something brilliant and getting it published, into readers' hands.

I've worked with big-name celebrities and debut authors, but whoever I'm working with, my goal remains the same - to help the author make their story as engaging, polished and professional as possible. I'm a careful editor who is sensitive to the author's voice and vision. But I'm also thorough - I love getting to grips with characters, poking around inside their heads and asking 'Why are they doing that?'

I specialize in middle grade and young adult fiction, and can't wait to work with you to help create something truly special.
