In 2016 I started my own company and have since then focused more on book design. So far I’ve illustrated/designed 16 children's books for major Swedish book publishers – B. Wahlströms, Natur & Kultur, Opal and Norstedts. But I'm not just aiming to do children's books. I'd love to illustrate and design cook books or books about gardening! Or calendars, greeting cards and notebooks.
I master a variety of styles but I guess you could say I'm very much into colors – my illustrations have also been described as warm, compassionate and humorous. I work digitally but aim for a hand drawn look and
I like to use different techniques, mixing drawings with watercolor and ink.
Clients find me easy to work with – fast but thorough, responsive, dedicated and versatile. I love new challenges and dive into projects with 200% commitment!
”I have worked with Annika on five books and have only good things to say. She is responsive to your wishes while being extremely professional and solves things better than you could have imagined. She is always pleasant to deal with and it is always smooth to work with her, the work process never lags. The end result is always amazing too, have received so much feedback from readers who love Annika's illustrations – and so do I! I recommend Annika wholeheartedly!” Reyhaneh Ahangaran, author and child psychologist. 2 May, 2023.
”Annika is an amazing artist, illustrator and designer, whom I (senior editor at a children’s publishing house) have had the honour to work with for many years. So skilful and talented as well as extremely responsive. She always deliver according to plan and agreement. The whole publishing team can verify to this. I’m especially impressed over and thankful for the fact that she can be both illustrator (always beautiful and diverse and thoughtful artwork) and designer at the same time.” Louella Bergman, B. Wahlströms. 9 May, 2023.
