Annabel Harz

Annabel Harz – Editor

Author/artist of two poetry books with matching art, telling my story of adolescent depression and rise into wellness. Survivor Creator Me

Overview

Having published two books and with a third in planning stages, I relish working in the authorial/publishing space. I am an experienced copy editor (non-fiction and fiction), structural/developmental editor (fiction) and content editor (non-fiction). I have worked as a sensitivity reader, offering advice based on my life experience to authors who are writing outside their personal experience; and am building my experience as a diversity, inclusion and equity editor, reading academic texts through the lens of justice.

My work as a career teacher (proving my ability for endurance and fortitude for hard work) informs my relationships with authors: I provide detailed and specific feedback with respect, honesty and integrity.

I thoroughly enjoy editing because it blends my loves of creativity, lateral thinking and problem-solving with logic and order: this grounds me and promotes inner peace. With my life experience, my editing experience and my teaching background providing a solid foundation, I am well placed to offer creative and structural suggestions to prospective authors: the keepers of culture.
