Overview
I have been a writer for approx 40 years, having written for editorials, advertorials, informational websites and educational booklets. In 2002 I changed direction, taking up fictional writing, and starting with an historical novel. Since then I have written 3 series of children's picture short story books, a series of mystery short stories and books in other genres.
With the business back ground I understand marketing, advertising and especailly use of the internet. I was one of the first people in the UK to create a retail website in the 1980's that was awarded The Golden Web Award for Design, Content and Creativity for three years.
Many people don't pick up a pen until late in life but as writing and reading are important I took up the mantle of being a Writer's Mentor. I work with new and developing writers of any age but especially with younger writers. I feel we should encourage the latter in the writing craft.
I offer help and advice to those that want to write and to publish, either traditionally or by self-publishing. Through my podcast show Mentoring Writer's Resource Box I am able to offer solid advice for all writers at any level of the craft. I enjoy helping those will to learn and who are wanting to be involved in this marvellous career.
