I have been a factual writer for over 30 years, having written pieces for editorials, advertorials, informational websites and educational booklets. Five years ago I changed direction and took up fictional writing, starting with an historical novel. Since then I have written 3 children's short story books and series of mystery short stories.
Many people don't pick up a pen until late in life but as writing and reading are important I have decided to take on the mantle of Mentor. Currently I work with new writers of any age but also with young writers as I feel we should encourage the craft in all ages.
I also give help and advice to those that want to self-publish. With a business back ground I understand marketing, advertising and the internet. I was one of the first people to create a retail website for the internet which won me 3 Golden Web Awards for Design, Content and Creativity.
I am available to offer help to anyone who wants to be involved in this marvelous career.
I have been a writer for 30 years producing factual pieces relating to exercise, fitness and health and covering all ages and abilities from children to seniors. Much of my work was used in advertorials, editorials, magazines and educational booklets as well winning a Golden Web Award three years running for website design, content and creativity.
In 2009 I retired and took up ficitional writing. Since then I have self-published a historical novel, mystery short story book and 3 children's illustrated short story books. I have also been mentoring new and young writers (in the UK, Australia and the USA) and have reviewed, edited and grammatically checked writing by other writers prior to them self-publishing. My mentoring has also included two younger writers and I have helped them to publish their own work.
Working with others I am one of the judges of an annual writing competition organised through Pen & Ink Designs based in the UK. This company helps new writers who take the self-publishing route. I also designs websites for writers and other users.
