— WHAT I DO —
I build websites for businesses, organizations, marketers, and publishers.
I help solve UX problems, create custom content, design beautiful visuals, and build handcrafted WordPress themes.
I collaborate with clients with professional and respectful communication, always working towards producing the best outcomes for their business and their audience.
— WHY WORK WITH ME —
I'm the web guy you always wished you had: patient, empathetic, and friendly. The goal of my work is not to impress you with my technical know-how, but rather simplify and clarify your website into human and relatable terms.
I attempt to balance my focus between your business needs and your users' experience needs. I always keep one eye on what's reasonable, what's pragmatic, and what's meaningful.

Worked in newsroom supporting digital editors and reporters, and worked with editorial team on special projects.
Aretfact is a product design firm in Seattle. They reached out to me to help them redevelop their own website.
Working in collaboration with their marketing and UX design team, I helped them reorganize their existing content, implement new design and templates, and build back-end tools in WordPress to make publishing swift and intuitive.
JAS Design Build is a wonderful group of home designers and builders in Seattle. I was part of a team that helped remodel their old fixer-upper of a site into a modern website with vaulted ceilings and an open-floor-plan.
I worked extensively with the folks at JAS to develop a strategy that worked for them and their brand on the web. I also delivered a mobile-first, responsive site that displays their work to perspective clients in all of their beauty and glory.
The fine folks at Cascade Designs, who make Therm-a-Rest mattresses and Platypus water gear, asked me to work with their marketing and design department to help them relaunch their blog.
In addition to a new coat of paint, we built features into WordPress to allow the team to feature products from their shop directly into their posts.
My friends and collaborators at Root Culture Lab own and operate Bottlehouse, a wine bar in the Madrona neighborhood of Seattle. The previous incarnation of the site had been built (by me) in the prehistoric days of 2010. With vibrant photography and beautiful typography, we created a website that celebrates the character of their wine bar and brings their web presence into the modern age.
