I bring a fresh, language-driven perspective to picture book, MG, and YA editing. Titles I've edited have been recognized on "Best of" and "Notable" lists by the American Library Association, Kirkus Reviews, the National Council of Teachers of English, School Library Journal, Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, and the Texas Library Association, and have received honors from the Arnold Adoff Poetry Award, the Paterson Prize for Books for Young People, the Lee Bennett Hopkins Poetry Award, and the White Ravens List from the International Children’s Library.

About Me:

I hold a B.A. in literature and an M.F.A. in creative writing, as well as a certificate in copyediting. I've written and published two books of poetry and a memoir-in-fragments, taught college writing at several institutions, and was the assistant director of a college writing center for several years. I was the publisher and primary editor at Penny Candy Books for seven years and currently edit at Microcosm Publishing in addition to freelance editing.

I offer developmental editing, line editing, copyediting, and any combination thereof. I provide an essay-letter alongside any in-text edits. I enjoy working with authors at every step, from ideation to finished product, and I take pride in developing a good rapport with my clients while we make books that sing.
