Alastair Coe – Editor

I've been working in the publishing industry in London for 5 years, having started out as an editorial assistant at an educational publisher. I've quickly worked my way up the career ladder, spending a few years as a desk editor before moving into content development. I currently specialise in digital content at the Chartered Insurance Institute, which involves enhancing learning materials as we transition from print to online outputs.

I've worked on my fair share of subjects throughout the years, from the rich history of the Cold War to the more niche discipline of fashion and textiles. (I know a lot more about hand stitching than I ever thought I would!) I have a very eclectic range of interests and hobbies, so anything educational and informative is right up my alley.

Collaborating with authors has always been an enjoyable experience for me, as I find each writer to be unique and dedicated to their craft. I don't see myself as someone who simply catches spelling mistakes and grammatical errors – it's important that I also work closely with authors to realise their vision and mould their content into the best that it can be. That editorial journey is the most satisfying part of the job!
